ABOUT HOLD

HOLD is a non-profit charity based in Oxford. We actively donate unwanted and unused books to the homeless community around Oxford in the hopes of providing enjoyment and respite. In a city which is dominated by academics and privileged, educated students, we feel that the students of Oxford have a responsibility to take care of the vulnerable members of our community.

While homelessness continues to rise in the United Kingdom, we know that the problem cannot be solved immediately - or simply. However, we feel that small steps can be made to better the wellbeing of Oxford's homeless community, and one of the ways you can do this is by donating your unused books.

Although we are a relatively new charity, we hope to find our feet and make a difference in Oxford. We are currently planning a book drive for Michaelmas 2019.

ABOUT US

HOLD is a non-profit charity based in Oxford. Motivated by our desire to support the increasing number of homeless people in Oxford, we work to distribute books amongst the homeless community in the hopes that we can offer enjoyment and respite for vulnerable members of our society.

We rely entirely on the donation of books by students at the University. Without your generosity, we would be unable to provide the local community with greatly appreciated literary material.
